Dagenham sees highest number of burglaries in the UK

Home insurance data has revealed some of the areas that experienced the largest number of burglaries in the UK.

According to the data, up to 1 in 20 homes were burgled in some areas during 2014.

The Association of British Insurers claimed that home insurance providers pay out approximately £8.1 million per day for domestic claims.

Theft from homes is the third most common type of insurance claim, accounting for 16% overall, with damage caused by burst water pipes responsible for 24%.

Other areas that saw a high number of burglaries last year include; Woodford in Greater London, Eccleshill in West Yorkshire and Cockfosters in Greater London.
