Pension and retirement planning tops UK search for financial advice

Retirement and pension planning remains top of the agenda for Brits seeking independent financial advice in September.

It was revealed that almost two-fifths of consumers searched for help on planning for their twilight years last month.

This is according to research by unbiased.co.uk, which also found that over a quarter of Brits are looking for advice regarding investment and savings, while more than a third are seeking out information on mortgages.

Chief executive of the website, Karen Barrett, said: "It's no surprise that retirement planning and investment and savings advice continue to dominate the ‘find an IFA' search results.

"With recent stock market volatility and all time low annuity rates, people are understandably worried about their retirement provision."

Meanwhile, the Pensions Advisory Service recently advised Brits that the most efficient way to save for their twilight years is to take out a good pension plan.

The organisation added that these savings usually come with some restrictions, but are realistically the best way for most ordinary people to save.
